Virtual fantasy games operate a scoring system that does not tie in with real matches and results are simulated by software. This gives the benefit that games can be run outside football seasons, to any timescale.

Games can be very complicated, varying from just picking 11 players, to tactics, training, buying/selling players. However as they arent related to real life leagues they dont have the same exposure as the more popular real-life based fantasy football leagues.
